- The latest update, version 1.3.2 for Mac OS X now supports Mac OS X 10.4.x
- Version 1.3.1 for Windows is now capable of posting large amounts of data (greater than 7Kb) through SQUID, see the new Knowledge Base article for more information
- In version 1.3.1 for Mac OS X 10.4, after around 240 POST operations SecureNet Xtra would crash [fixed]
- In version 1.3.1 for Mac OS 9, error -1044 (The certificate on the server has expired.) [fixed]
- With SQUID proxy on Mac, the POST operation is only supported for small amounts of data. Note: Commonly used web browsers also have problems with SQUID; Safari does not support SQUID proxy, and Internet Explorer does not consistently support large POST operations with SQUID when user authentication is required
- On Mac OS X version 10.2.x, secure HTTP communications bypass the proxy server. When a direct Internet connection is present the request goes directly through to the URL being queried
- Due to a refresh problem that exists in Shockwave in Internet Explorer, on Mac OS 9.x, SecureNet Xtra cannot be used in the synchronous mode (using a repeat loop) in Shockwave on Mac Classic OS. Therefore, the SecureNet Xtra Behaviors, which rely on the synchronous mode, cannot be used under these circumstances. All cross- platform Shockwave developers must be aware of this limitation. This limitation does not apply on Windows or Mac OS X version 10.2 +, and does not apply to projectors or in Director's authoring environment. Note that NetLingo only uses the asynchronous mode, so you should not have any problems converting projects from NetLingo to INM SecureNet Xtra
- On Mac OS 9.x, when performing a secure HTTP operation (https://) across a proxy that requires authentication, snxGetStreamStatus() cannot be used to display the status of the request
- Versions of the URL Access Manager library older than v2.4.1 may not support all proxy server authentication protocols
To ensure that your Shockwave movies auto-install the right version of this Xtra, copy the
following text and paste it into your "Xtrainfo.txt" file (located in the same folder as Director).
