What's New in Server Version 1.1

New features and Bug fixes:

• Now includes Microsoft Data Engine (MSDE). This engine is the next-generation database engine from Microsoft, replacing the older JET engine. Because MSDE is based on the same data engine as SQL Server, most Microsoft Access projects or client/server applications run on either version unchanged.
• Now includes Authorware and Director samples which connect to the included MSDE database.
• In some circumstances the server would 'lose' an open connection. [fixed]
  Orphaned recordsets left open on server. [fixed]
  Subsequent selections after the first on a recordset leaked recordset handle on the server. [fixed]
• Several recurring memory leaks that could potentially lead to resource exhaustion over long periods of time. [fixed]
• Several race conditions in the TCP/IP code that resulted in various seemingly unrelated and unpredictable errors on either the client or the server. [fixed]
• (Admin) frequent refreshes of the real-time stats could cause a crash in either the server of the admin. [fixed]
• (Admin) RPC calls to the server were using TCP/IP. This resulted in a significant performance hit. Changed for LPC port. [fixed]
• UI enhancements in the admin:
  • improved user management
  • improved interface to ODBC
  • performance enhancements in the server's TCP/IP code
    

What's New in Client Version 1.1

Improvements in INM GoldenGate Client version 1.1

• (Xtra) GetSelection on table with more than 255 columns failed. [fixed]
• (Xtra) In some circumstances closing one connection closes all other open connections, resulting in frequent and erroneous error conditions. On the Mac this occasionally led to a type 2 error requiring a reboot. [fixed]
